GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Island Lady Crusaders (6-10) defeated Adams Central (6-11) 41-26 on Saturday.
The Lady Patriots lacked intensity from the tip-off, a problem that AC head coach Tim Marker saw as the biggest factor in the loss.
“There was a lack of intensity to begin the game,” Marker said. “We knew that was going to the be a key thing for them. GICC may not have a ton of skill, but they have a lot of heart and intensity. They played really hard, and we weren’t ready for that tonight.”
The Lady Crusaders jumped out to a 10-3 lead after the first quarter and their lead would swell to 20-10 at the half. AC had 15 turnovers offensively and shot just 23 percent (4-for-17) from the field.
