Late surge lifts Tigers past AC

Hastings High's Tanner Johnson puts up a shot against Adams
Central's Evan Lindblad (50) and Kyler Wormstadt (24)
Tuesday night at Hastings High.

Tuesday's matchup between Hastings High and Adams Central was exactly what fans expected from a crosstown rivalry game. There was great offense, clutch shooting and late-game heroics.

The Tigers finished the game on a 15-4 run in the final 5 minutes, 35 seconds to win 44-39 and claim their third straight victory in the rivalry.

"I think this is going to be an exciting game for years to come because both of us (teams) are relying on young guys to make plays," said Hastings High head coach Lance Creech. "I'm just really proud of our kids resiliency to keep a tough mindset and squeak one out."
