BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill boys basketball team found themselves against the ropes after the first quarter against Lawrence-Nelson on Tuesday night and needed an answer.
And thanks to the work of Blue Hill senior Mitchell Ruybalid, the momentum changed dramatically in the second quarter.
Ruybalid went on to score 17 points and had six steals to help Blue Hill (8-7) defeat Lawrence-Nelson (6-10) 50-29 Tuesday night.
Blue Hill entered the second quarter trailing 9-2 before Ruybalid and the Bobcats clawed their way back into the game. Ruybalid had nine of the team's 17 second quarter points to help them find their groove offensively.
"Mitch Ruybalid is a heck of a player," Lawrence-Nelson head coach Tom Jensen said. "We were playing a diamond and one on him that was working, but we switched it up one time and he went on a little terror and that was enough separation."
