Police choose new car logo

Hastings Police Department's new Ford Police Interceptor
has been in use for about two weeks and has been well
received by officers and the public.

Officers are sporting a new ride, with a Hastings Police Department logo picked by officers instead of administrators.

The new Ford Interceptor was purchased a few weeks ago as a replacement patrol vehicle. The black and white logo is reflective and helps the vehicle be seen in dark conditions.

Two officers, Travis Beahm and Michael Doremus, helped choose the design used for the logo. They selected the final design from various options offered by Ford.

"It was a great opportunity to have some leeway with the vehicle we spend so much time in," Beahm said. "We can take pride in what we look like in our vehicle."
