Faces of Tribland: Amy Sandeen

Amy Sandeen clogs along to the music of the Platte Valley
Skunk Runners during the Flatwater Music Festival Friday at
the Prairie Loft Center.

It is no coincidence that Amy Sandeen is so well suited for her position as executive director at Prairie Loft Educational Center.

Sandeen, 42, is largely responsible for shaping and molding the popular experiential learning center, which has allowed her the freedom to incorporate many of her own interests into the program, including music and photography.

In a sense, it is a role she feels she was in training for most of her adult life, though not always aware that such was the direction her life was taking.

"I love the work that I do and I do a lot of it," she said. "It's varied enough that it does feel like a well-rounded life, which is great. To tell you the truth, I don't feel like anything is missing.

"There are dreams that I have and promises that I've made that I will stay here to fulfill. I'm pretty committed and I'm really happy."
