Casey's plans new store in Juniata

Monday night the Adams County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the construction of a new Casey's Convenience Store in Juniata.

Both the county and the village of Juniata must amend their land use plan before Casey's can build their propose store. The lots also have to be rezoned from residential and urban residential to C-1 highway commercial.

Casey's already owns the three lots planned to house the new store, which are adjacent to their present store location.
Pam McCormick, Casey's district manager from Marysville, Kansas, told the commission that their Juniata store has not had any improvement since being built.

"The house next door came up for sale and we purchased it because we need a bigger store. We need bigger coolers and have other issues with the building. To put a lot of money into it (the building) to repair - it would be very nice to just go ahead and tear it down and replace it," McCormick said.
