John Van Brocklin, president of the Hastings Soccer Club,
talks about the importance of stretching before practice at

Although hands are usually the vehicle that helps a person eat, drive, communicate, and maneuver through the day, the game of soccer challenges its athletes to maneuver using only their feet.

"When you're throwing a ball, like in baseball, it feels normal because you're used to using your hands. But passing, chipping, and navigating the soccer field with your feet is something that doesn't come naturally to us," said John Van Brocklin, president of the Hastings Soccer Club and longtime coach in the program.
