Church in Hastings Sunday, joining Rev. Marcus McCay. This is
the first time in history the church will have two pastors.

For the first time in its history, Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings will have two full-time pastors to meet the growing needs of the congregation.

The church's current pastor, the Rev. Marcus J. Mackay, is being joined by Benjamin Siebert, whose ordination installation is 4 p.m. Sunday at the church at 906 N. California Ave.

Mackay said having a second pastor will allow the church to expand its college, youth and family ministries, as well as its Hispanic outreach. Siebert will share pastoral duties, but Mackay will take on a head pastor role and handle many of the administrative tasks.

"God's blessed us with a little bit of growth," Mackay said. "This will definitely be a historic first for Peace Lutheran."

Mackay, 39, is the fourth pastor in the church's 65-year-history, making Siebert, 33, the fifth.
