Area 4-Her likes to be prepared

Mariah Miller is pictured with several projects for the
Kearney County Fair including photographs, acrylic painting
and a fair-related scrapbook that has been grand champion
for the last six years.

MINDEN — Preparation of 4-H projects for Mariah Miller begins very early on before the Kearney County Fair here.

"She puts a lot of thought into all of her projects," her mother Lisa said. "She goes through the year and thinks about different projects she wants to do, so she has a whole year into it just in her thought process and what she wants to do. She's a very detailed and organized person when she goes to do something."

This year Miller, a 16-year-old Minden High School junior-to-be from northern Franklin County, entered projects in scrapbooking, photography, cake decorating, acrylic painting and swine divisions and got purple ribbons for each entry.

The Kearney County Fair concludes with the 4-H livestock auction Thursday morning.
