Where's the beef? 4-H'ers know!

Twila Bankson, a Rural Ranchers 4-H leader, helps Jade Utter,
12, of Hastings, get her feeder steer to the ring for judging
during the beef show Friday morning at the Adams County
Fair.

Bailey Hinrichs, 19, of Ayr and her Charolais steer, Phil, pulled off the triple crown Friday at the Adams County 4-H beef show.

Hinrichs — and Phil — won the bred and fed market steer grand championship and went on to win grand champion overall market beef. Phil also propelled Hinrichs into the senior showman grand championship as the more than four-hour long show wrapped up shortly after noon.

"We are done, and it was a good day. It was awesome. All the hard work has paid off," Hinrichs said. "It took a lot of work. Phil is a good boy.

"I've been blessed over the years, but I don't think I've done quite this well. This has been a good one."
