4-H'ers cool off with competition
April Crandell typically is not a fan of banana splits.
So when her mother suggested she make a banana split-flavored entry for the 4-H ice cream in a can contest Friday afternoon at Adams County FairFest, the 17-year-old Inland girl was less than enthused.
" 'I was just like uh, OK,' " she said. "But I don't really have any other options, so there we go."
Then she tasted her ice cream.
"It was amazing," she said.
