FairFest cooks at just the right temperature
Adams County FairFest 2013 wasn't quite as hot a ticket this year as last, and that was a good thing for visitors over the five-day event.
Though temperatures did touch 95 during the weekend, it was still 10 degrees cooler than last year's high on Sunday. And with a persistent breeze fanning those sitting in the grandstands to watch the shows, the comfort level was pleasantly tolerable, said Sandy Himmelberg, general manager of Adams County Fairgrounds.
"It wasn't overly hot," Himmelberg said. "We did not have that extreme heat this year, which really helped out. At night in the grandstand, it was just very comfortable."
