FAIRFIELD — A fire early Tuesday morning that could be seen from miles away caused extensive damage to the main building of a John Deere dealership east of here.

Evan Hansen of Deweese, who is a volunteer for Fairfield Fire and Rescue, said the page for the fire was made just after midnight. He said he began to see flames in the distance as he approached Fairfield, which is about eight miles away from his home in Deweese.

“The tin was hot enough that it was just glowing,” Evan said.
