Lebanon teenager dominates showmanship

Darian Allen of rural Lebanon, Kan., stands with her
hampshire wether, Spook, at the Smith County Free Fair.
Allen, who only shows sheep, is the only 2013 high school
graduate participating in the fair this year.

SMITH CENTER, Kan. — For Darian Allen, pigs are too stinky and cattle is too big but sheep have always been just right.

The 18-year-old rural Lebanon woman has been involved in Smith County 4-H for more than 10 years now only shows sheep, which said is more passion than project.

"They've always appealed to me," she said. "Ever since I first wanted to be in 4-H, my dad said I had to show some kind of livestock animals."
