night at Duncan Field.

After nearly a week off since beating Lexington 18-0, the Five Points Bank American Legion baseball team did not let the long layover affect it on Tuesday.

Hastings was finally back at Duncan Field and treated home fans with an 8-0 victory over Pleasant Dale.

"Overall, great game for us. We have to clean it up on the infield a little bit — maybe that was just a little bit of not seeing to many live balls off the bat — but pitching was great," said FPB head coach Russ Kindig. "Alex (Mendoza) has gone into that starting rotation, filled in and thrown a lot of strikes for us. We're happy. A great way to come off the break."

Pitching paved the way to victory for Five Points Bank as Alex Mendoza, Ryan Kern and Brady Staton combined for the two-hit shutout.
