JIH downs Pleasant Dale 12-0

Pleasant Dale's Tanner Smith slides into second base as
Johnson Imperial Homes' Nick Hamburger makes a throw to
first base for a double play in the third inning Tuesday night
at Duncan Field.

It won't officially make the record books, but Cole Maurer did accomplish a first at the newly renovated Duncan Field on Tuesday night.

The Johnson Imperial Homes first baseman drilled a three-run, inside-the-park homer to the left-center field gap — the first four-bagger since the new Duncan debuted on June 17 — during a breakout first inning against Pleasant Dale Post 354.

"It was solid off the bat and felt good," Maurer said of his hit.

JIH's four runs in the first inning was only a start in its 12-0 victory in a game that lasted just one hour and twenty minutes.
