JIH splits doubleheader with Gretna

The Johnson Imperial Homes American Legion baseball team is in the midst of a grueling end to the regular season.

JIH plays six games and will compete in a tournament in Omaha in a matter of eight days. Saturday marked the beginning of the tough stretch with a doubleheader against Gretna.

Walks by the JIH pitching staff ultimately led to an 8-3 loss in game one, but JIH bounced back with a 10-8 victory in game two. After tallying just three hits in the first game, Hastings pounded 13 hits in the nightcap.
