When it comes to sports, timing is everything. A fraction of a second can be the difference between a mishap and a spectacular play.

For former Hastings coach Jim May, perfect timing is what opened the door to some of his life's greatest opportunities.

"I have a knack for being in the right place at the right time," May admits.

May was the head coach for the Hastings Chiefs American Legion baseball team from 1977-82, and a Hastings High assistant football coach from 1973-82.
