Hope was the theme of the 15th annual Adams County Relay for Life Friday at the Evangelical Free Church.

Miles Powers, staff partner with the American Cancer Society branch in Kearney, addressed the survivors at the start of the first lap.

"Every last one of you is proof that there is hope," he said.

Survivors donned purple T-shirts with the message, "I Am Hope." Most walked the first lap around the track, led by a car with the royalty for the event.
