Young man lauds new Maryland Center program


Evan McElroy, 17, has completed the Maryland Living Center
program to help build life skills for independant living. Evan
recently graduated from Hastings High School and plans to
attend Central Community College in the fall.

After a few tumultuous months, 17-year-old Evan McElroy finally feels like he has gotten his life back on track thanks to the recently-started Maryland Living Center program.

At a time when most youth turn to their parents for help learning to live on their own, Evan's relationship with his mother had hit rock bottom.

Evan had a rough childhood. His parents fought over custody for years. He would spend years without one parent or the other in his life on a regular basis.
