Adams Central names new activities director

The new activities director at Adams Central already had been hired by the school district to fill another vacant position.

Ed Sughroue, who has served as a math and physical education teacher for Alliance Public Schools for the last 14 years as well as a coach and assistant activities director, will replace Ron Alexander, who resigned May 20.

Alexander announced that he was resigning his position as activities director to take an administrative position with a school district in Colorado.

At Monday’s Board of Education meeting, the board accepted Alexander’s resignation and also approved the hiring of his replacement.

Sughroue had been hired by the district in May to serve as a high school math teacher. However, after Alexander announced his plans to resign, Sughroue stated his interest in the AD position, Superintendent Shawn Scott said.
