AC meal prices upped 15 cents

With only $7,000 left in the lunch fund, the Adams Central Board of Education voted Monday to increase breakfast and lunch prices for students and staff by 15 cents.

Lately, the board has been forced to move money from the general fund into the lunch program fund to keep the program afloat.

"I hate to raise it but I hate going into the school year knowing you're going to reimburse it anyway," said board member Craig Bengtson.

Before voting to increase the fee by 15 cents a meal, the board expressed hope that an increase and other changes in the program would lead to no increase or even a reduction in cost for the 2014-15 school year.
