The baseball field built for $14,000 and dedicated on Labor Day in 1940 is about to turn the page on yet another exciting chapter in its storied history.
Duncan Field will re-open its gates for play on Tuesday with a doubleheader vs. Kearney featuring Five Points Bank senior team at 5:30 p.m. and Johnson Imperial Homes junior team at 8 p.m. The celebration launches at 4:30 p.m. with an open house, followed by a 5 p.m. ribbon cutting.
Admission is free for the games, with free hot dogs and raffle drawings included in the festivities.
The re-opening introduces the $3.3 million renovation project that has given the park a brand new look while retaining it old-time signature red brick facade and outfield wall.
