Nebraska Lotto winner has ticket to ride

Lottery scratch game at Casey's General Store at

The way Steven Swanson sees it, winning the Nebraska Lottery $5 Harley Davidson Scratch game is a sure sign that it is time for him to let it ride once again.

Swanson, a single father, parted with his prized motorcycle 18 years earlier to raise his then-infant daughter. With her turning 18 on New Year's Eve 2013, the Las Vegas resident — who is working in Hastings as a foreman with Nevada Railroad — recently had announced his intention to get back on a bike and looked at the very same model he won.

He purchased the winning ticket on June 4 at Casey's General Store, 406 S. Elm Ave., and received his grand prize — the first of three Harley Davidson Street Glide bikes valued at $30,500 in the Nebraska Lottery Scratch game — during a news conference Friday afternoon in front of the store.
