Krings voted new council president

The Hastings City Council elected Michael Krings as the new council president Monday.

Krings replaces former council president Roger Glen, who resigned June 16 as a Ward 2 representative because he moved into a home in another ward. Glen had served on the council since 2002.

"We have seen excellent things from Michael, and we look forward to having him gives his expertise and energy to this position," Mayor Vern Powers said.
