Little Library opens on 9th Street

Believe it or not, sometimes it is OK to take something.

Susan Meeske and Brady Rhodes moved to Hastings from Denver last year with their two children, Moses, 7, and Brady Rhodes, 5.

While everyone in the family loves their new life in Hastings, sometimes they do miss Colorado, so they brought a piece of Denver with them to their West Ninth Street home.

One of their neighbors in Denver had a Little Free Library and they decided Hastings needed one.

The concept is simple. If you want a book, take a book but please leave another book behind for the next reader.

The family’s Little Free Library is in front of the family’s home at 1000 W. Ninth St.

“Hey, go ahead and take a book,” Brady said. “That’s what it is for but bring a book when you take a book. You don’t have to bring it back. If you want to bring it back you can. It’s a movement that is going around in different places.”
