Prairie Loft looks to expand

DAVENPORT — The Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning hopes to acquire land owned by the state and is seeking help from the Little Blue Natural Resources District to do so.

Amy Sandeen, Prairie Loft executive director, shared her organization's desire during the Little Blue NRD's Projects and Planning Committee meeting Tuesday to purchase 65 acres along DLD Road west of Hastings and adjacent to Prairie Loft's existing 8.3-acre footprint.

The 65 acres currently is part of the Hastings Regional Center property and belongs to the state.

Little Blue NRD members on Tuesday formed a three-member subcommittee to work with Sandeen and look into the possibility of purchasing that ground.
