Concrete being poured on new truck route

A Werner Construction crew began pouring concrete
Wednesday on the $2.8 million truck route extension
of Showboat Boulevard.

The first load of concrete for the $2.8 million truck route around Hastings arrived shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

“We are under construction finally,” said Adams County Roads Superintendent Dawn Miller.

The project includes the connecting and paving of both Showboat Boulevard and East 42nd Street, which were both gravel roads and not connected previously. Once complete, the route should relieve congestion and provide safer travel on 26th Street between Showboat and Osborne Drive East.
