Weather straightens up for Saturday’s festival

The Platte Valley Skunk Runners perform at the Flatwater
Music Festival Friday at the Prairie Loft Center.

Rain on Friday may have left the grounds soggy, but it didn’t keep the crowds away from the Flatwater Music Festival Saturday.

“Last year we had 1,300 people when we had perfect weather, so I’m pleased with the turnout,” Amy Sandeen said of the 1,100 attendance at this year’s festival.

The event held at the Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning just to the west of Hastings gives visitors a chance to hear a variety of music while enjoying foods and crafts from different vendors.
