Grand Island too much for FPB

Sometimes the numbers lie, and Grand Island Home Federal pitcher Tanner Meyer proved that against Hastings Five Points Bank.

Prior to his start against FPB, Meyer had pitched just two innings, given up nine runs on seven hits and had an earned run average of 28.00.

But in the American Legion seniors game Tuesday night at Duncan Field, the Doane College sophomore-to-be was efficient and dominant, handing FPB a 12-0 loss in seven innings.

FPB dropped to 6-7 on the season. In its past three games, the team has been outscored 42-5.
