South boys cruise to 4-0 win

The South's Michael Sadd (10) drives toward the goal in front
of the North's David Finley in the final minutes of the Shrine
Soccer Classic Saturday at Lloyd Wilson Field.

In the 20th edition of the boys Shrine Soccer Classic, featuring the best senior soccer players in the state, Lincoln Pius X's Brock Fitzgerald was expecting a close match with goals scored at a minimum.

That wasn't the case.

Fitzgerald scored two goals, nearly completing a hat trick, en route to 4-0 victory for the South squad.

"We definitely were expecting it to be a little closer. I think things kind of went our way," Fitzgerald said. "We played great on both sides of the ball. We practiced hard and I think that paid off. I think we had a lot of team chemistry, so it was fun."
