The East team ended a six-year drought with a dominating 32-14 win over the West on Saturday at the Sertoma 8-man Classic.

The winning side jumped out to a 32-0 halftime lead after a big 22-point second quarter to put the game out of reach.

Jackson Sudbeck of Wynot garnered offensive MVP accolades after completing 5-of-10 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns. His three scores — from 72, 10 and 43 yards out, respectively — all came during a span of five consecutive completions by the quarterback.

“Jackson did good. We changed some things up from what he’s used to doing, but he made some good reads out there and he’s got a good arm,” said East head coach Dean Filipi of Exeter-Milligan. “The team rallied around him and gave him time.”
