D-E-S too much for Doniphan-Trumbull

DONIPHAN — After surrendering two runs and three hits in the first inning, pitcher Luke Christensen was able to hang on and go the distance Davenport-Edgar-Shickley's 19-5 victory Tuesday over Doniphan-Trumbull.

"Boy, I was impressed with the way Doniphan-Trumball swung the bat early," said D-E-S coach Rod Tegtmeier, whose team improved to 11-3 overall. "They hit some good balls. (Luke and I) talked after he came in and I said that he'd really have to mix things up and start with the curveball or change up. I thought he did a nice job."
