The Hastings Public Library is teaming up with three other central Nebraska libraries to give readers a chance to check out digital magazines for free.
Jake Rundle, the collections librarian, said library users now have access to 121 different magazines to read on their desktop or laptop computer, tablet, e-reader or smartphone.
The collaboration through the Grand Island, Hastings, Holdrege and Kearney libraries allows users to log onto the local library's home page and access zinio.com.
Through zinio.com, library users will be able to digitally access, download and keep the chosen magazines for free forever.
That's right. Rundle said an unlimited number of people can all download the same magazine at the same time and there is no due date. Once a person has downloaded a magazine, he or she can keep it forever.
