I
Schnitzler brothers like being teammates

tournament.

KENESAW — Coach Jack Einrem says there's "never a dull moment" with the three Schnitzler brothers on this year's state tournament basketball team.

"They're fun to have around," Einrem said of brothers Tyler, Austin and Preston, who are preparing along with the rest of their Blue Devil teammates for this week's boys tournament in Lincoln.

Kenesaw (23-1) is the fifth seed in Class D-1 and opens play at 8:45 p.m. Thursday against fourth-seeded Burwell (24-2) at Lincoln North Star.

Tyler is a senior, Austin is a sophomore and Preston is a freshman. So this is the one and only time when the three will ever be high school teammates. And, apparently, they understand the pecking order on the court.

"I look up to Tyler a lot and give him the ball on fast breaks because he wants it," Austin said.

To which Tyler replied: "That's how it works being a senior, I guess."
