The Adams Central junior high band plays over the lunch
break Tuesday afternoon in the State Capitol Rotunda in
Lincoln.

To help bring attention to the benefits of school music programs, the Adams Central junior high band performed a set Tuesday at the state Capitol in Lincoln.

Two school bands will perform during the noon hour each day this week for Music Education Week at the Capitol, organized by the Nebraska Music Educators Association.

On Tuesday, the Adams Central junior high band played a set of four songs, concluding with the state song, "Beautiful Nebraska."

"It was just a great honor for our kids and they really stepped up to the plate and did a fine job," said Tom Jaworski, band director at Adams Central. "The kids did a super job playing."
