Euna Lee, the television journalist who was detained in
North Korea for five months, speaks Tuesday at Hastings
College.
The decision Euna Lee made March 17, 2009, changed her life. Along with Laura Ling, Lee was one of two American journalists working for Current TV detained in North Korea for several months during 2009 until the women were pardoned Aug. 4 by the North Korean government after a special humanitarian visit by former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
Lee spoke about that experience Tuesday night at French Memorial Chapel on the Hastings College campus.
Her visit to the college was funded by several HC organizations and academic departments and is one of several Women's History Month activities taking place on campus in the coming weeks.
