dunk contest Saturday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.
James Parrott of Omaha had no idea just what kind of slam dunk he would need to accomplish to impress the judges at the Whoopers & Hoopers main exhibition event Saturday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.
A former small forward on the Midland University team in Fremont, he didn't practice for the event. Nor did he spend much time attempting to visualize what he was going to do once he took the ball in hand.
Instead, he simply let his basketball instincts take over. And between that and drawing inspiration from his rather formidable foes, he was able to put down enough quality dunks to emerge victorious in the contest.
"I just go out there and feed off these guys," Parrott said. "They do something spectacular, and I've got to top it, know what I'm saying? And I guess I did that today."
