After serving 13 years on the bench, county court Judge Robert Ide of Holdrege will be stepping down in July.
In a news release from the Nebraska Supreme Court issued today, Ide announced his retirement effective July 5. Ide currently serves in the Tenth Judicial District, which includes Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps and Webster counties.
"I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the people of the State of Nebraska for the opportunity to serve them in the Tenth Judicial District," Ide wrote in his resignation letter to the governor. "I would like to commend our clerks and magistrates for their untiring efforts to keep the judicial system going. Our folks have put in additional hours, have communicated well with each other and cooperated in minimizing any interruption in court system services during periods of judicial shortage and during periods in which legislation has added to their duties."
