A new interactive ag attraction opening at this year’s Nebraska State Fair will give families and visitors of all ages some opportunities to view the future of the state’s bread-and-butter industry.
The 25,000-square-foot exhibit space that will house the exhibit is being designed by David & Associates and implemented by a team of specialists that include exhibit planners, construction experts, interactive consultants and audio-visual professionals.
Its features will include enormous 40-foot sculptures of key commodities grown in Nebraska, a theater enclosed in a grain bin; food preparation stage; a virtual combine ride attraction; pivot irrigation system exhibit; and other true-to-life stimuli.
“It’s a big deal,” said David Buchholz, president and creative director of David & Associates, which is headquartered in Hastings. “This is really about ‘ag literacy,’ about helping people understand a little bit more about agriculture and how it impacts their personal lives in terms of the foods they eat, quality of life, and those sort of things. Think of this as just a 25,000-square-foot ag literacy opportunity.”
