championship Friday night in Hastings.

The Sutton girls basketball team was a handful for St. Cecilia through the first half and most of the third quarter. But the Hawkette defense clamped down and the offense found its groove, helping STC cruise to a 55-37 win and the Class C-2, District 4 championship.

"Our defense buckled down in that third quarter, and I think our offense really came on. In the first half, our offense was struggling," STC head coach Jahn Kile said.

"We just couldn't find a rhythm, and (Sutton) did a good job hanging around in that first half."
