KEARNEY — After the Sutton and Thayer Central wrestling teams both lost their opening contest at Saturday’s state dual championships, the Mustangs and the Titans won in the next round to set up an all-Tribland matchup for fifth place.

Sutton started the dual with three straight pins and never looked back en route to a 52-27 win over the Titans.

“We were very relaxed about it. We knew coming in that we had a very tough draw and had a couple kids who had injuries,” said Sutton head coach Ron Gerber. “It was a good experience. We were relaxed and wanted to have fun with it.”
