Whippets embrace early morning schedule

There seems to be some dread toward early-morning games at the state basketball tournament. Waking up early and getting ready for the most important game of the season — for both players and fans — isn’t the most enviable task.

Minden head girls basketball coach Rick Chramosta actually wouldn’t have it any other way though.

“You know, I think 9 a.m. is the best time to play,” said the coach, whose top-seeded Whippets (25-0) begin their quest for the Class C-1 crown against No. 8 Lincoln Lutheran (18-7) Thursday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.
