Timberwolves confident going into state

After winning the Class D-1 football state championship, Exeter-Milligan is anxious to make another run at a title.

The E-M boys basketball team posted a record of 22-3 this season and earned a spot in the Class D-2 state tournament after beating Falls City Sacred Heart 63-60 in overtime at the D2-1 district finals.

The Timberwolves are seeded No. 5, which pairs them with No. 4 High Plains Community in the first round on today at 7 p.m. at Lincoln East High School. The Storm are 25-1, but that one loss was to Exeter-Milligan.

“It’s going to be a tough game. They’re a really good team. They’re well coached and I’m sure they’ll be ready to play,” said Exeter-Milligan head coach Dean Fillipi.
