The Thayer County man, 31, has been tackling steers professionally since 2003. A full-timer on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for nearly a decade, he competed in the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in 2006, a distinction reserved for the top 15 money winners each year.
He spends about 200 days per year on the road during rodeo season. In 2013, his tour included stops in 24 states and two Canadian provinces.
