Court upholds ruling on infraction violations

The district court has upheld the infraction conviction against Marvin “Butch” Hughes of Hastings for violating city codes at the former middle school building, 505 N. Hastings Ave.
Hughes has 30 days to appeal the district court’s decision with the Nebraska Court of Appeals.

“We’re considering what we are going to do,” Hughes said this morning. “I believe if I hadn’t fought the issue, they would have shut down the building.”

Adams County District Judge Terri Harder issued an order May 2 affirming the lower court’s decision finding Hughes guilty of 21 code violations on April 13, 2012.
