Peter Draper convicted in death of grandson

Megan Johnson interviews Heidi Rinehart, Joseph Rinehart
Jr.'s paternal grandmother, Friday afternoon at the Adams
County Courthouse after a jury found Peter Draper guilty in
Joseph's death.

The decision that Peter Draper was guilty of the two charges he faced in the death of his 2-year-old grandson, Joseph Rinehart Jr., came quickly.

A jury of eight men and four women arrived at its verdict after only about 40 minutes of deliberation, around 4:40 p.m. Friday in Adams County District Court.

"I think it's the result of very good trial work by the folks at the attorney general's office as a result of a careful investigation, careful preparation and more than adequate evidence," Franklin County Attorney Patrick Duncan said about the short deliberation time while talking to reporters after the verdict.
