Jim Fielder has spent most of his life walking the halls of Hastings High and, in that time, he has never grown tired of his love of learning and teaching.
In fact, the idea to become a teacher started when he was a Hastings High student himself.
“I think even back in high school I thought that would be sort of a neat career,” the 1991 HHS alum said of teaching. “There were some teachers I looked up to and sort of thought that would be really cool if I could do something like that.”
Fielder was recently honored by the Hastings Public Schools Foundation as the Educator of the Year.
