A parent/patron committee and school district staff are divided on the future of the elementary facilities at Adams Central.
The preference of staff is for the district to offer a one-site elementary, while the parent/patron committee prefers a multisite approach, especially since two previous bond issues for one site failed.
Andrea Collins, a member of the parent/patron committee created by the Board of Education, reported Monday on the results of the committee's discussions, which centered on the need for a multisite elementary program.
Later in the meeting, school board member Carissa Uhrmacher shared the results of a staff survey that indicated nearly 60 percent of those who responded were in favor of a one-site elementary.
The district currently operates three elementary schools: Juniata, Wallace and Adams Central East.
