Seniors thanked supporters and spoke of the diversity among the 234 students who graduated Sunday at Hastings High.
Student council president Justine Steiner welcomed everyone and took selfies on stage with her fellow graduates as one final memory to add to their high school experience.
"I hope you all aspire to fulfill your biggest dreams," she said.
Valedictorian Karen Huynh was the first of six seniors to address the audience during the ceremony. She thanked the family, teachers and friends who helped support the seniors in their journey through high school.
She conducted a survey of her fellow seniors and 100 responded. Of those who responded, more than 50 percent are pursuing secondary education. More than $1 million in scholarships have been awarded to students in the class.
